Jewish Aid Australia

Jewish Aid Australia is about bringing Jews together to work with people from other communities to address humanitarian need. Currently based out of Melbourne, Jewish Aid Australia is working with refugees, the homeless and the hungry through a variety of programs that include tutoring, employment assistance, computer training and food collection/distribution.

The only way Jewish Aid operates so many amazing programs is through our wonderful volunteers who come as singles, pairs or groups of friends who are willing to roll up their sleeves, say ‘hi can I help?’ to someone new and learn, laugh and share experiences along the way. People volunteer every week, once a month or just when they can – no matter which it is, our aim is to find a way for you to spend the time you give as meaningful as possible.

If you are interested in knowing more about Jewish Aid Australia or are ready to give some of your time, money or expertise – please contact us on info@jewishaid.org.au

Hillel (NSW and ACT)

Hillel exists in order to enrich the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people, Israel and the world. Hillel empowers Jewish university students to develop a stronger Jewish identity and greater sense of communal responsibility and pride. Hillel initiatives include leadership development, Israel advocacy training, social action opportunities, and support services for students.

Hillel meaningfully engages with a wide variety of Jewish university students on and off-campus in NSW and ACT. Inclusive and pluralistic in its approach, Hillel works with AUJS to empower and engage students on campus. Hillel also develops relationships with organizations serving Jewish university students off campus to enhance Jewish campus life.

Over 50's Social Group (NSW)

OVER 50's GROUP
We are simply a small group of people who mix socially on a regular basis. We mostly meet at Westfield and Hakoah for Chats & Snacks over a coffee, and frequently go to the movies and meet up afterwards. Occassionally we do other things such as picnics and have a Discussion Afternoon. We use "word of mouth", the Jewish News, but mostly email, to communicate our activities. Anyone can 'organise' or suggest an activity. We send out the suggestion and see who is interested. We do not organise 'matches' or give out telephone numbers or contact details - that's up to you. Our contact is Ray on 02) 9365-1102.
