The matchmakers were each awarded a Certificate of Appreciation as well as a glamorous Caddy Design watch to thank them for their dedication and commitment over the past year.

With 7 engagements, 3 weddings, and two babies on their way, j-junction, has a lot to celebrate.

From humble beginnings in 2006 with a handful of members, the organisation was founded by Rabbi Mendel Kastel as a way to connect Sydney singles.

 “We are really proud of what we have achieved and the difference we are making to Jewish continuity. I think it is very gratifying from a vision in 2004 to now see an organisation that has grown and is really making a difference to Jewish Continuity” said Kastel. 

Since then its membership base has grown to over 1200 people, who are now committed to finding Jewish partners and are open to meeting suitable candidates.  

Over 150 members are offered a match each month. This means over 900 matches are proposed in a year and of these perhaps 40% would result in a first meeting and of those 360 meetings about 30% will result in a second or subsequent meeting.
